In this episode of Veteran Voices SITREP, hosts Tom and Chris Faust welcome Chris Celeste, co-founder of Operation Veteran Freedom (OVF) Academy, to discuss his military service, transition challenges, and entrepreneurial journey.
Chris Celeste shares his background as a 37-year-old father and husband living in Arizona. He recounts his military service as a Cavalry Scout in Afghanistan, where he experienced life-threatening injuries and subsequent rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Facility.
After leaving the military, Chris faced identity loss and struggled with prescription medication dependency. His turning point came when he decided to reduce medication use with the support of his wife and turned to medical cannabis for managing his seizure disorder.
Motivated by a desire to create a legacy for his family, Chris co-founded Easy Peasy Auto Glass. Despite initial anxiety and PTSD challenges, he pushed through to achieve significant business success.
A pivotal moment came when his young son questioned why he never played with him, prompting Chris to explore digital marketing as a way to balance work and family life.
Chris co-founded OVF with Liam Weiser to help veterans transition into entrepreneurship using digital marketing skills. OVF has grown to over 3,000 members, with many veterans starting successful businesses.
The organization focuses on skill set training in digital marketing, AI software automation, funnel building, and copywriting.
Chris shares success stories like that of Chris Wilson, who leveraged OVF's frameworks to secure government contracts. Another example is a veteran-owned CBD company that expanded its reach significantly through OVF's guidance.
OVF emphasizes community support, offering programs like Tactical Mind and The Calling to help veterans overcome PTSD and anxiety through personal growth.
OVF aims to evolve by focusing on teaching digital skills applicable across various industries. The organization plans to enhance its educational offerings and community engagement through platforms like "Skool."
Chris Celeste's story underscores the importance of resilience, community support, and skill development in helping veterans transition successfully into civilian life and entrepreneurship.
